Hey guys,
just got a new bike through and I love it very light etc, but the problem is it is very difficult to ride becuase my hydraulic discs rub constantly, they are single pot quad qhd-sp's. It is the hydraulic part that is rubbing - is it possible for me to open up the bleed nipple and push the cylinder in to stop the rub or will the brake adjust themselves to rub again?
thanks for your help

how long have you used the bike? are the pads bedded in yet.
Go use and they will get better."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I have tried adjusting the static pad, and even added a 'spacer' Ie a couple of washer to the rear one as the caliper itself seemed to be too close tot he disc. I have ridden the bike about 40 miles so far, I have tried fully unscrewing the static caliper and this has made no difference.0

you want to wind the static piston almost fully out (ie as far as possible from the other) then re-center close to it to give maximum clearance.0

sorry i meant to say I have fully wound it out0

I have the same brakes and the same problem....i found by taking the pads out that the piston was pushed right back, refit the pad and it was close to the disc (rubbing)....if you unfasten the allen bolts on the caliper (not the main ones connecting it to the bike frame, the other ones!) then pull the brake lever on, hold this and fasten up the allen key bolts again. Then get a torch (or front bike light) and look between the brake pad and disc and adjust the fixed pad until you can just see it and theres light between this pad and the disc.....iy should be alot better now.
Mine is now free though there is a little squeak at low speeds if there is no weight on the bike....guess it just needs to bed in/wear away a tad.Cheers, Stu0
