Marzocchi 4X travel issue

My mate has some marz 4X and there is a slight problem with them. The forks sag about 8mm with no force on them at all, its like the first 8mm of movement is free play. The forks have air in them. Has anybody else experienced this problem or knows the solution?

    so what sag do he get when riding them?

    sound like they need some air adding.

    Oh and 2007 or 2008?

    They are 2008 forks. I'm not sure how much sag he gets when on the bike. He is only 15 and small so what kind of pressure should he put in it? I can't seem to find the fork pressure range on the marzocchi site.

    well as they are air only forks he had better get a shock pump with a low pressure guage so he can set them up correctly.

    set the sag and that is it.

    Cheers nick, i thought they were coil with air preload like the DJs. Got use of a pump (I work in my LBS) so I'll just get him to come in. Do you know the pressure range for marzocchi air forks?

    the 2007 are the coil and air preload the 2008 just air.
