Where to tape to!
I Have bought these Handlebar/stem combo http://www.dotbike.com/ProductsP3503.aspx?TRACK%3dDPL
But the handlebar tape is to short to go all the way, so where is the best place to finish it, as it doesn't look right finishing half way, a bit like some 6ft 6 wearing 30" leg trousers! Or can you get extra long tape somewhere?
Thanks

I would tape up until the top of the leversYou live and learn. At any rate, you live0

I've seen quite a few taped to the corner of the bars - so a few inches past the levers. Looks a bit silly if you tape to the "normal" end point.I'm left handed, if that matters.0

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the replies, I currently have them taped where Jez mentioned to, but when it threw it down the bars became slippy, so I thought of to the corner, but couldn't get it to look right. The other question i have is to anyone who has seen these bars or has a pair. I bought a torque wrench to tighten the handlebar clamp section but the design makes it impossible to tighten it. I'm worried that using a normal allen key I won't get the torque right and damage myself or the bars, any ideas as i've already slighty scratched them much to my dismay. The local bike shop is an option but not a perminent fix as its hard to get there during opening hours.

Whats wrong with 30" trousers? They show off my ankles and shins beautifully  ..

Its not the ankles and shin, its the long argyle socks showing through!0

cant help with your taping - but NICE bars!
Are you using them with campag or shimano and how does the cabling work out? is there internal channels or just grooves?
good luck with the taping!0 -
Not saying you're taping wrong but usually bar tape needs to be stretched(pulled firmly) when you put it on in order for it to be tight on the bar. This could be a reason why it
seems to be too short. If you just wrap the bars without pulling and stretching the tape a bit, it has been my experience that it won't be long enough(or tight enough). I have seen
more than a few people with the same style of bar as you have, with them taped "all
the way" so to speak. And I have seen many that are taped "halfway". Your call on that one.

They're a thing of beauty - I wouldn't tape them at all!!0

Damn, i wanted those bars!! My LBS told me they were no longer available when i specced my bike, so went with FSA K-Wings and an OS-99 stem, am happy though. As to taping, i personally tape up to the flatter area, i only put my hands there when resting or in a straight line (and it shows the carbon off too!). On a long ride resting on the bare bars can be a nice change in surfaces..0

They are discontinued as a set, ITM went out of business so I got them For £190, great deal as they do make a massive difference to the ritchy pro stem and easton ea90 bars I had, which were still good.
I like the Cervelo, that down tube looks fantastic, how does it ride?
Has anyone got any ideas on the Difficult to reach handlebar clamp bolt, how I can get the Torque right, it also says 11nn that seems high for Carbon!
The Shifters are Dura Ace, so the break cables go through the bars via a little hole near where the shifters clamp and come out the bottom, looks really neat, but was a nightmare to get the cable and outer round the bend of the Bar.

I would go for either white or red. Black bartape always looks boring to me!You live and learn. At any rate, you live0

No tape because at 365g+ i think they're heavy enough... just ride on the lever hoods at all times.0

Hi,
Has anyone got advice on the Torque Wrench Problem. I have a BBB, but with these Bars they obstruct so you grind against the carbon (Due to the Wing Shape), So I can only tighten them with the short end of an allen key.
I really don't want to overtighten or the opposite and them come loose.
