Hi everyone
I have a Marin Rocky ridge 08 fitted with a fox Van R fork. My questions is how should i set up the rebound and dampening for optimal preformance?
As a newbie really dont know what i should be looking for.

Fox "R" forks only have rebound damping adjust (and spring preload).
Assuming that you've set the sag correctly and have the correct spring in place, setting the rebound damping is simply a case of adjusting to taste.
Set the rebound knob (top of right leg, red dial) about half-way to start with (I think there's sixteen clicks from fully opne to fully closed, so set it at eight).
Then take the bike out for an off-road ride. If you find that the forks are "packing down" after repeated hits, you've too much rebound damping - turn the knob towards the "minus" side a click at a time to correct.
If it feels like the front wheel is "pinging" off everything and knocking you off line, you've too little damping - increase the setting by turning the knob towards the "plus" side to correct.
Takes a bit of practice to get it right but persevere and you'll get there!0
