Toe Clips For Clipless Pedals

on a recent trip to the velodrome, i noticed that the hire bikes are all equipped with look clipless pedals.
if you are wearing normal shoes (trainers) they have a "clip-in" toe clip with a flat platform and adjustable strap.
this seems like the perfect solution when i want to nip out to the shops etc on my bike but don't want to be skidding about Tescos on my cleats!
does anyone:
a) know what i'm talking about?
b) know where i can get some?
a google search hasn't turned up much.
thanks!

IIRC quite a lot of the straps are retro fitted, and they are to stop you pulling your foot out when sprinting hard, extremely hard, Chris Hoy hard basically!
Now in putting them on your bike, I'm pretty sure you would make the normal clipless pedals difficult to use, but would have the tiny upshot of being able to strap yourself in when going to the shops.
How about seeing what it's like riding on clipless shoes with trainers, IMO, (unless your using speedplays/SPDs) you should find the platform big enough to use it as a flat pedal. You live and learn. At any rate, you live0 -
spare set of cleats and a 2 pieces of Aluminium checker plate and a drill.
one set of flat pedals.
well that is what we do for the MTBers that want somthing for the shop run."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

JEZ MON - these are not straps for clipless - they are to "convert" clipless pedals to be used with normal trainers/shoes.
they give a nice flat platform and have straps, much like normal clip-in pedals but they have a cleat allowing them to be used with clipless look pedals. they attach by "clipping in" and they are removed by "twisting" them out.0 -
I think this may be what your talking about, generally used for duathlons/short triathlons.....http://www.wheelworxbikes.com/product_i ... ts_id=10220

yes - much like that but much simpler and hopefully cheaper!
they seemed to be a one piece moulded design without the support for the whole foot. the same size as a normal platform pedal.
geting warmer!0
