Bear with me. I will not mention any links etc as this is not to drum up any commerce as I know that is naughty. But it is a very real enquiry.
I live in France and my wife and I have started (NOV 2007) our own brand of carbon bikes to compliment the training and tours we do. We want to keep it small. 20 bikes a year would be fine. 50 by year 3 is our target. Still very small but really exciting. All I can say is that our goods come the very same factories as the big names and we are 60% of the cost for both mid and top level specs.
We will be sponsoring our local team here in France in 2009. As we would also like to go to events in the UK and show our bikes, bars, wheels etc, at cyclo's, we feel it would be good to be part of a team thing.
So, we are looking into sponsoring a team with at least 50 active members in both ROAD and TT events. Where better to start the ball rolling than a forum? Go right to the people with the knowledge.
If antone knows decent events we can get to in 2009 then let us know. If you have a contact for the event that would be good too. We can only manage around 4 in 2009 as we are doing almost one per weekend here in France from April thru to Sept.
On the sponsor side of things we need to know what our legal position is as a 'foreign investor' (so to speak).
best wishes

Something like the Smithfield Nocturne Crit would be a great showcase for a new manufacturer if they dont already have a deal with someone.
And if you want to sponsor a club, our little outfit are always happy to help spend money for you!
