Yep, the Wellgo MG1. Lighter than the V8, better bearings.
  • I would agree the MG1 is the same spec as a V12 magnesium , cromo axle, twin sealed bearing rather than bearing and bush found in V12 but will cost you around £35 rather than over 50.

i have Gusset Inca pedals which are very grippy. Good idea to wear knee/shin pads though because they are also very good at shredding skin!

I have Shimano XCs (cant remember the exact model number), but they are really nice once you put the bigger spikes in them (again, guards recommended if your going to get aggressive :) )

should have put 90% riding on road and the rest light xc
prob most of the time in just normal trainers if that makes any difference

also on the mg1,s i have noticed some people say they are twin bearing and some say 1 bearing and one bush which is right?

Anyone know if the MG1 has serviceable bearings?

Mine have gone really graunchy but I haven't had time to look at them.
  • i got the wellgo v8 copies....cheap, plenty of grip and i've still got a 3 year old pair on an old saracen...dont see the point in spending over a tenner, just gotta keep them maintained.

Not just about the bearings tho'
Gusset SLim Jims have a larger platform than the V8 and its clones, feel much better underfoot.
