Ive been looking at possibly getting an orange crush but can anyone tell me how the hayes brakes perform and what it rides like XC and on the trails.

Its fantastic. I can't comment on the brakes as I custom built mine.
I have ridden Wharncliffe, Dalby and Llandegla and the bike is fantastic - I am being completely biased as I own it, I've ridden 2 GTs before this. I absolutely hammer the bike and so far nothing has gone wrong for me. The frame is so strong, it loves to get airborne, lower the seat over some technical stuff and you will be in heaven.0 -
the brakes are brilliant with lots of modulation and power everyone in my riding group is using strokers and we all can use them with one finger on each brake no problems0

There you go mate - Brakes are recommended and so is the frame, time for a purchase me thinks.0
