Avid Juicy 3 - Problems

I recently replaced the pads on my rear brake (Avid Juicy 3) and had to use a screwdriver to force the pistons back into the caliper body, with the old pads in place, to enable me to get the new pads in. However now I have very little stopping power. I did notice that some hydraulic fluid had seeped out of the lever reservoir between the body and the reservoir cap.
How do I get the stopping power back?

The pads need to bed in. Check no oil got on the pads (not that it should from there!)0

steelo, i would get someone to check them. i have just done exactly the same job pumped the lever a few times job done. pretty sure fluid should stay in sealed units else they would never work!! for the record ive had nothing but problems with my threes. i put a bigger disc on the front and organic pads all round seem ok at the minute. any more hassle and there in the bin!! i think being 13.5 stone doesn't help either. if you have lost fluid thats not cool me thinks."My life is like a porno-movie, without the sex".0

I've has issues with juicy 3's pulling back to the bars along way even after bleeding them.
The best solution I've found is to remove the wheel, pump the lever to about 3/4 travel and them replace the wheel.
This will push the pads out a bit and give more power.
Juicy 3's don't seem to like to take up slack in the pads like they should do0 -
wappy ive just done what you suggested. travels a bit less before it bites now. was looking at goodridge hoses but will see how it goes. will prob get some anyway though, bling bling"My life is like a porno-movie, without the sex".0
