The opening ceremony looks amazing. looking forward to watching some highlights on tv tonight. They usually drag on for ages, and this looks like no exception but some of it looks spectacular. Alot for London to think about!

I hate opening ceremonies. "And here we have a lot of school children telling us the history of X Country through interpretive dance while jumping out of boxes and holding ribbons  .
Get the duck off and show me some sport! 8) 2012 should have the same marching band I grew up watching at half time at the FA Cup final0 -
What aspects of Britain should the opening ceremony of 2012 highlight? Gangs of dancing hoodies with knives? Mini-skirted young ladies vomiting WKD in synchronisation? Kerry Katona juggling copies of 'Heat' Magazine...0

The bits that I saw of the Opening Ceremony this afternoon were stunning - definitely looking forward to the highlights. However, if someone could post up the TV scheduling for the cycling events that would be damned useful

Well, cycling is off to a good start with Nicole and now Pooley getting silver in the TT. Well done those girls! Hopefully the track guys and gals will bring a gold rush and Reade will kick some ars on the BMX too.
Is it me or does anyone else thing there's been a large amount of negative reporting on the Olympics? Yesterdays evening news had a small bit on the canoeing silver but then most of it was about the faked fireworks and mimed singing at the opening ceremony and the whole rent a crowd thing. Who gives a fck!? Surely they could have run a decent story on the canoeist or had an interview with some Brits having a grand time in Beijing? GB is having a good games so why not get in there and give us some background on the positives? There's plenty of time to slag off the Chinese when the action is over if thats what they want to do!0 -
I hear good old Bruce is going to open to London games; To see you all ,to see you NICE!bagpuss0
