switch to gripshift

have a specialized hardrock with thumb levers for the gears,am wanting to swap to gripshift,any advice as to which ones and is it easy to convert,thanks.

SRAM do a range of gripshift. You need to get the same amount of gears that you currently have for the shifter, and make sure it is compatible with your rear mech (ie a Sram or Shimano compatible shifter)

hmmmmmmm its a shimano deore rear mech with 8 sprockets,yet the shifters have 7.

if you want them to match that is. I know people who have pipe one side and rapid fire on the other... Also know someone who for a while had a road STI flightdeck next to a thumb shifter but that was more out of necessity of the parts available than anything
