Magura Louise Brakes

hi
i have just tried bleeding my 2007 Magura Louise brakes.
i have put a whole syringe of mineral oil through them and tapped all along the brake lines from the caliper to the reservoir to ensure all air is out of the system. I have also checked all connections to ensure they are tight.
My only concern is that the brake lever still travels a substantial amount. it pulls to nearly 1 inch from the bar - is this normal? i have tried using the BAT adjuster but does not make a significant difference.
My previous brakes were Hayes HFX 9 and there was a much more positive feel to them.
Is this the 'Magura' feel for the brakes or have i missed something?
