I would like a nice hardtail, a Cove Hummer would fit the bill perfectly.

Rebecca Romero's (after she's finished with it!)

I'm not exactly lusting after anything from them, But I wonder if Halfrauds can get anything decent ordered in? My Ride2Work is up next month. I can get a £1k for about £14 a month (after the tax breaks and stuff) I'd like a Spesh P-All Mountain, I've never had a hardtail and could use if to sharpen my woefull DH Skills. But is has to come from the bandits in orange and black.

  • My Mercian 531 touring bike.
The frame was sent away for restoration at Mercian 8 weeks ago for a 6 week wait.

Time ( as Mr Hawkins said ) is ellastic !

When it does come back it will be resplendent in pearecent white with electric blue lug linning with matching transfers.

Gonna do Lands End to Jon O Groats next spring ( maybe then my user name could change to Neil bit chubby lad on a bike  )

    Jon - a ROAD bike?!

strictly commuting duties only  , been riding to work and it's 15 miles each way    , with very big hills      .

Whilst it's good cycling to work to get the extra miles in I can't see any fun in it, pleasure riding is strictly MTB (although the lycra liner with my baggies is starting to seem very stylish on it's own  ).

And the for now the missus has put her foot down and said no, time to buy a rug for the living room floor  .
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result

Halfords can get just about anything on Bike to work so you are not limited by the shop stock. There should be a number to ring to order the bike you want.

Do you mean £14 per week for this as I thought the duration was 12 months?

Only just getting back into it so don't know enough about the different bikes. Think I would go for a British hardtail so its a custom build Kinesis or an Orange P7 with custom paint job all though £100 extra seems a bit steep to me  ...

hmm got a quake so I'm pretty much in love with that still. wish my new wheel'd hurry up though.
    ummmm
maybe a lightweight hardtail? but anything too lightweight/xc style i'd break as soon as i spotted a jump next to the trail. A marin 140 would be awesome but pointless when i've got the quake.
need a new bmx frame as mine is bent but thats less than £100 and just need to find one - its not really a lust...

Ok. I'm more than happy with mine, I'd want the suspension finely tuned to my riding though. yep. no more bikes just mine to be tuned up. oh and a joplin/gravity dropper seatpost.

either an Orange ST4, or a Turner of some description (flux or Spot). The Orange I might just about be able to afford with some man maths, if I wanted a turner I'd have to start selling someone's organs ;)
