  • Forest of Dean is close & has some good riding, or it did about 10 years ago. I'm guessing if it's changed it's likely to have got better rather than worse. Seem to remember there was the usual choice of family routes to more tech stuff.
  • There is a Pedalway centre in Forest of Dean , nice spot to start out from , loos , change rooms , bike shop and cafe.

They have mapped out routes from easy family routes to what ever you want .

I have just found a map for the Peregrine Trail , a cycle route from Goodrich Castle to Monmouth , that I'm keen to try next week .
  • ok thanks and ive been there before it is good but i was just looking for other places but ill also look at the other trail you mentioned but thanks guys
  • Lots of good riding in the Brecon Beacons, the east of the Beacons shouldn't be too far from you.
Have alook at this site: www.mtbbreconbeacons.co.uk

Cwm Carn is the other obvious one, just north of Newport.
