Another TdF positive....

Why would a positive for corticosteroids take so long to come through? Its not like they had to boil-down a vat of p!ss. Either, for the first in, well, ever, everyone involved - the labs, ASO, FFC, national federation and the rider - have kept their yaps shut until all the relevant parties were informed. OR was this sat upon until the Tour was done and dusted?'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0

So let's try to guess who it is. I'll go for Schumacher.Scottish and British...and a bit French0
-
Kohl. Lots of funny shaped heads at Gerolsteiner, maybe that's why.0
-
From the L'Equipe article it would appear that someone's dog ate his TUE. Seven riders tested positive for corticoids - 6 had the relevant "Get out of jail FREE" paperwork.'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0
-
Why not get everyone to reapply for their TUE's for next season? Start with a clean slate in 2009.....0
-
76 of the riders had TUE's for something.
I thought they were cracking down on them?Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
The uci just upped the price is all. Sarcastic smiley.Dan0

Anyone got "tendonitis" or "stomach problems" all of a sudden?
It's probably just a stupid fool, like Moreni or Dimitri "I scared away Orange" Fonfonov rather than something more sinister.0 -
IF it was FM, I'd be surprised. I'd have though that an old hand at this sort of activity would be far more careful with his paperwork.
However the apparent delay in this indicates that they are giving someone extra time to check down the back of the couch and look in the glove-box for the TUE.
Unless of course, Prudhomme is sitting at his desk with his head in his hands, looking a high-profile name on the "positive" list and thinking "Merde! How will we manage this"'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0 -

Somewhere in Ireland, someone is sitting at a computer chanting "Garmin" to himself...
Somewhere in London the same scene is being played out with a chant of "Columbia"

TBH, I was thinking more along the lines of a stage-winning rider who discovered the value of "training" in the past 12 months.'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0 -
Oooh, a riddle.
Hmmmm, I'll need to have a think. I think I have more of an idea who was evicted from the Big Brother house over stage winners from this year...Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
You mean Mr Nice Guy?0

has anyone put their guess in white text ? I have been looking but cant find it.
I hope its Schumacher though, can't stand him.0 -
None of the other forums out there have a definitive identity...0
-
I wonder if the rider in question is in Beijing at the moment? (No, Iain, that's not a hint, its a query)'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0

If Langerdan is correct, Quick Step will have a chemically enhanced line up next season....0

If Langerdan is correct, he's going to play the Lotto tomorrow night as this was a complete guess.'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0

Oh I don't know who it is.
So I'll just hope it's going to be a complete surprise that makes everyone weep.
It's nice that we can be sure it's no-one from Astana.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
I gather we are alluding to Chavanel?? He seemed to be trying very hard for stage wins with his numerous early attacks, though only made it once...0
-
How ironic would it be if it was the yellow jersey winner??0

As usual I'm not. Who does this forum suspect?0
-
TBH, I'd be surprised if it was SC. He never had an issue with strength - he was just too excitable and spent his early races going off like a cheap firework. If he was going to test for anything, I'd reckon it would be beta-blockers.
The suspense is killing oir at least mildy interesting.
The delay is odd, though. The EPO tests were turned around and announcements were made within 1 week of the actual test. Fofonovs positive was announced 4 days after his sample was taken. I don't believe that a corticoid test would take any more than a week to announce. Given past history, if it was someone like Ricco or one of those "we've always suspected but couldn't nab" riders, it would have been splashed across L'Equipe a week ago.
What about the Antipodean Lion Hugger?'This week I 'ave been mostly been climbing like Basso - Shirley Basso.'0
