He's got a beef with me, I'm sure of it.

    Not that I'm paranoid.

A new user name? I got a real roasting from an LBIRNIE after I dared to criticise the less-than-Pulitzer-Prize-winning journalism at Cycle Sport and Cycling Weekly.

Still, I applaud their anti-omerta stance on the Tour of Britain, so if you're reading this Lionel, chapeau!

Having just thumbed through the latest edition of CS perhaps someone can send him the name of a good printer. It has all the quality of a Lidl flyer.

Surely the sport is ready for an article on staffers riding the Gavia stage while wearing a Rapha-branded, foam-rubber Mark Cavendish head while sundry members of the advertising department make fake snow by shredding unsold "I Support Judge-Free Courts" (that WAS what they said, wasn't it?) wristbands.

  • I like Lionel.

But could this be him incognito..?

A journalist by the name of Lionel Birnie works for IPC media on 'Cycle Sport' magazine.

Over the years opinions, jokes and comments posted on here (and the C+ forum before it) have appeared in Cycle Sport passed off as their own. Allegedly.

Yup. Lionel Birnie used to work for the Watford Observer.

  • Loved the broomwagon joke about Ricco being in hot water with Saunier Duval. Was that on here first?
