My front ring shifter has developed an annoying rattle....from somewhere deep inside. Whats the best course of action? Spray some gloop in there? I'm not keen to disassemble the thing.

  • I have sprayed chain spray into a rattly ergo, it did stop the rattle & it still works fine.
Maybe I got lucky. I can`t remember what spray I used.

Have you tried tightening the bracket holding the ergo to the handlebars? Sometimes they come a little loose.

My ergo on my Record also rattles, but only the last couple of years. This is a known ergo problem, as far as other forums goes.

Hmm. Ah well. I'll spray some stuff in there and make sure the bracket is tight. Otherwise it sounds like I'll just have to live with it which is a pain as its annoying.

I had this problem on some old Mirage shifters. I sprayed some GT85 inside and never had the problem since.
I'm only concerned with looking concerned
