Did the Coast to Coast on my Boardman Comp this weekend. Into the second day my chain was slipping all over the place. Thought it was rear x9 mech but on closer inspection it turned out to be the chain - seized links! Cut them out using chain tool and carried on only for more to seize to the point where I only just made it to the finish with the chain totally screwed.
The bike is only 4 weeks old and chain had had a tad of dry lube with teflon added before the start of the ride, anyway went to local bike shop and bought a KMC X9l chain at £25.00.
Took the broken chain into halfords today with the box for the new chain I bought and the manager gave me my £25.00 back, great really chuffed!
So Halfords not so bad after all............
