As above. Can anyone recommend good strong road bike wheels capable of commuting on terrible roads.
Cheap as possible. Was thinking around £100 +/ - for a set?
Would be good to hear from mechanics and those with first hand experience please.
Thanks folks

Good wheels are good wheels there's no need to get "special wheels" just for a couple of potholes. Any brand that has a good reputation wrt wheels, is your best start.
I presume you've got Shimano so I'd recommend a set of Shimano wheels - RS10s or whatever is in that price band now.0 -
OK but surely spoke choice and lacing config play a big part?0

I seem to recall that the Quest Como wheels were strong for what £70 a pair? C+ reviewed them a while back and gave them 8/10, losing out because they are "heavy".0

I would get a pair of handbuilt Mavic Open Pros if I were you. I have a pair and will replace them if need ever be with another pair.0

Have been toying with getting a pair of these for a while. Is there anywhere in the UK other than Sigma Sport that stocks them?0 -
Jason,
The strongest wheels I ever had were the ones I built for my mtb tandem, with Sun Rhyno rims. Not to be confused with the Rhyno light or other variants. You can get them at St John's st cycles, in mtb or 700c sizes, they do builds too. They're bomb proof, but are heavy.
