I am building a bike and have narrowed my choice down to a Yet 575 2008, or a Santa Cruz Blur LT. Has anyone out there had any negative experiences with either of these frames, or any comments that would be helpful.

Both good frames I know they have updated the Blur LT recently
not to sure on the Yeti.
I'l put my neck on the line here but I think the Yeti is more XC/Tral and
the Blur more Trail/All Mountain. But I am not to sure.
Best advise is to get a test ride on these two and go from there.0 -
Both great frames, both can be built up light or heavy depending on what you are doing. They both tend to be run with 140mm forks, but can take 160mm forks. Definitely test ride them both - this is a lot of money you are spending!"Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

Definitely test ride the Yeti, I'm not biased though, and bang a 145mm fork on the front. I ride mine for XC and trail centres and it's the best bike I've ever had, and I've had a few!!If it's not a Yeti, it's not worth riding!0

just buying a 08 talas 36 to cover all bases of travel. Just not sure about the carbon or the standard alloy option. cant believe my wife gave me permission to build this!0

You might want to check whether the carbon rear ended Yeti has a narrower tyre clearance than the alloy one.
I think I might have read something about that from owners on MTBR.0
