Do you think that admitting full time professionals to the Olympic Games is a backward step?

The President of the IOC seems a guy in tune with aspirant competitors - see here: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/ ... 460442.ece

    Nope.

I want to watch elite sport. That generally requires the athelite to recieve funding of some sort.

IOC is all about the $. Being paid to change final schedule times and the like. The whole 'Olympic ideal' thing makes me laugh.

yes true its a corpoate event all about money so if you want the big sponsors and media revenue then you need big names in sport so out goes toe wrestling etc - the big stars in all sports are now paid professionals (take the slave Ronaldo) so you will never get back to the IOC ideal when money governs

personally I'd rather watch paid professionals anyway, I want to watch the highest standard

I would prefer it to be an amateur event ( not the organisation- the competitors) but you can't turn the clock back now
