I'd phone argos cycles in bristol, they might be able to help as they do a fair bit of chroming of bike parts.0

This outfit looks as though they know what they are doing:

Ashford, Kent based.Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom0 -
If you try Mercian, they out-source their chroming by the look of it. Worth getting in touch with them on the off-chance. Their bike resprays in general - superb. Friendly enough shop.

Hope that is of some help.0 -
Not local to either you or me, but I'd recommend this lot: http://www.cresswellco.com/
I got their address from a VCC contact and I've been very impressed with their work. I've used a couple of the London places in the past and whilst the results have been very very shiney in many cases the parts have lost definition during the polishing process. In particular I've had a pair of Boa pedal cages and brake levers wrecked.
Cresswell seem to take a bit more care to preserve the job. The Durax cranks on my '47 Butler they did are simply fantastic.
Best of all, even with shipping and insurance they are a bit cheaper than the London shops too.0 -
sussex is a big area.
give us a clue .... East or West Sussex.
I would use google.
what's wrong with this lot on yell.com

I think they use a local firm to chrome/re-chrome frames/forks. They just do frame repairs and resprays in St Annes.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -
thanks all for the replies.0

5 years ago (when I worked for a company that dealt with engineering subcontractors), there were 30-40 nationwide.

very nice frame. Is it a Raliegh or Carlton ? looks like a 60's frame just look at how thin those pencil stays are  nice lugwork too .
Have you found a source for some nice chromed cotter pins yet ?
If you are stuck for any small stuff like bolts and fixings BBs etc I have boxes of 50's 60's and 70's parts just gathering dust.let me know what ou need and I'll take a look0 -
It's a French constructeur frame - much more in common with a Herse or a Singer than a Raleigh! Lots of odd threading too, I don't doubt.
