Leg Warmers

I think they're a general size. Made of lycra so should fit any calf size, usually come with zip. Had mine (castellis) for a few years and very good.0

I brought a pair of Assos leg warmers, the larger size - I think it is called size 2 or II, I was told by a guy at Parkers they would be okay and they only did 2 sizes anyway. I kinda have sprinters thighs - needless to say they didn't fit  :? Yeah maybe if I was like a racing snake
My other pair Biemme :?: (excuse the spelling) are a nice fit and cheaper tooRegards

I have never seen any sizes other than small, medium, large, and xlarge. Never sen them in lenghts.

Personally, I'd forego the leg warmers....just buy medium-weight tights.. When I first began riding, I purchased various leg warmers.... EVERY pair would slip down to just above the knees after riding for a few miles.... that is probably the worst money I've wasted on cycling goodies...Cajun0 -

I have found that if I put my shorts OVER the top of the leg warmers that they tend to
stay in place a lot better than the other way around.

I really like leg warmers - much more useful than light tights IMO - plus it means if, like me, you have 4 pairs of shorts and one pair of padded tights then you're not doing laundry every day - you only need to wash the shorts and the leg warmers can wait until the weekend.
The necessary measurement is length - from the ankle to a couple of inches under your shorts is about right.
I'm 6'1" and have pretty big legs but actually wear a M in my Lusso legwarmers - which are really comfy. Took me buying them and then sending them back to get them right though (although I think Lusso sizes are a bit weird as I wear a M in their bibs too and they're my loosest shorts - and I'm definitely not a medium).I'm left handed, if that matters.0 -

It's the cause of much debate amongst West London's most stylish cyclists. I am of the Inside faction, as I don't like to obscure the name panel on my club issue bibshorts. The outside faction argue that their method is the pro way.
Of more importance is what coloured socks should be worn with legwarmers. The consensus seems to be that white is the correct order as warmers are not 'proper' longs. Some however still insist on black socks with 'warmers :twisted:0 -

That was my method too...but just didn't work out...still rode down... but that was about 25 yrs ago, and since, I've various weights of tights for different temps... btw..all of the tights are chamois-free....Cajun0 -
I have a few pairs of shorts, tights and also 3/4 lengths, thought I would try some warmers as I my shorts are a bit more comfortable than my tights hence my question. Guess I'll go by my inside leg and take a few inches off so no chaffing occurs....
Many thanks

I bought a pair of size L Assos legwarmers, but they are really long. I'm about a 34" leg, but these are real gonad warmers0

Surely that's how there are designed to be worn anyway??? I can't imagine pulling them over the top of shorts, always underneath?!?!?0 -
Another vote for always underneath
