]I was just wondering will the stroker trail brakes replace my hfx 9 directly or will i have to buy a set of adaptors to accomdate the new calipers??? Is it worth spending money to replace my original setup???

No you won't need new adaptors, assuming the rotor size is the same. Yes it is worth getting them, they are great brakes - they just won the WMB Industry Award. Merlin was doing them for 125 quid a set last time I checked.

  • I have just done almost exactly the same thing, Stroker Ryde though for 08 Nine and a Sole, all depends on rotor size to be fair, the Stroker will fit straight onto your nine mount no prob but will likely have mounts included. Iif you have a bigger rotor, the supplier should supply a mount to use instead which will position the caliper further from the frame/ fork post. 8 inch are an arse if you had 6 inch like me, the front for Stroker may come with a really wide mount as it's designed for downhill bike bikes with massive clearance, Merlin cycles sorted all mine out with a Shimano mount for the front instead and I may have to jig the back around with a drill, as my bike isn't really designed for brakes this big. Merlin are really cheap-( 2 for 1 on Strokers! ) have got to check the bleeding as they don't apparently, don't know if that's just the way it is or if I've been unlucky, pretty impressive as they are though - you won't disappointed if you buy them!
  • they should go on the adaptors i have already then i run a V7 (180mm) front and a V6 (160mm) rear this sounds good info anyways
