Wheel bearings/hubs

I run Rigida Nova wheels on my Giant OCR and there is a slight amount of sideways play from the bearings - am i able to just change the bearings or is it a hub replacement job?
I'm new to cycling so be patient :oops:

    if the hub uses cup-and-cones then you should just be able to adjust the cones and remove the play.

    Your LBS will be able to do it if you don't have any cone spanners.

    If it runs cartridge bearings then you'll need to replace them. You basically whack out the old ones and whack in new ones but not having seen the hub myself, I can't advise on how to do this.
