Did anyone compete in the Gateway to the beacons today ? I'd be interested to hear how the race went and if anyone took any pictures. The Swansea Wheelers site is rather out of date so I don'y expect to see any results there any time soon

    brilliant thanks.
My mate really enjoyed the race. he came back glowing all about it. Really fired him up and I think he is going to re-think his next season's strategy as a result. All down to you bronzie
    Cheers

Only ten riders? Yikes! No one from Herefordshire at all. Man. Maybe they were doing dull TTs instead on some bypass.

There is a road race local to us next week. At 45 minutes away, it's closer than any race except our road race. # riders signed up from Charlottesville? Not many. It seems everyone trains but does not race.

no I think there were 60+ riders but only the first 10 places are recorded.
Its done by a couple of volunteers on the finish line with a pencil and the back of an envelope . We are not very high tech but then the entrance fees are so low its hardly any wonder.

There would have been more riding - you don't always get mentioned by BC unless you are in the top ten (where the points are).

So Peanut, did you mate get in the points, or at least top 20? Glad he enjoyed it - probably much more of a "race" than charging around on a flat course with anyone getting away from the bunch being chased down by the "welder".
