I have a Giant Yukon, Use it for commuting, Ave speed is 20 mph, when I push it I can do 27mph or just a little over, the thing is at that speed my legs are spinning like a chipmonk on acid, Im pretty new to all this so is there a way I can change the gears for more speed ? If there is a way what sort of cost ?
Thanks Guys

Cost from £20

No. teeth. Your current outer ring is most likely 42 tooth."Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

You can get 44, 46, 48... even more. Whether they work with your front derailer is another matter. Look into it.
When I were a wee lad I could get more than that out of a 44/11 at big revs.0 -
Have a look through here
I think you will need to make sure that whatever you buy is 4-bolt, and designed for 8/9 speed. Also I may be wrong and people can shoot me down or back me up but will need to be an outer ring so not designed for single speed.

I know that one is a little pricey but makes a good example of the 4 / 5 bolt.0
