My Giant Yukon 08 is now 53 miles old and the chain seems to be slipping in the 8th gear cog, On Tuesday during REALLY bad rain it was also doing the same in 7th, The shop said I get a free service but I cant get it to them for another 6 weeks (Im doing 20 miles per week at the moment) so was wondering if you guys could help me out ?

Have you got a damaged link in your chain or is the problem when you chage gear.

If when changing gear have you tried adjusting the barrel adjusters (cable adjustment barrel) where the cable from gear levers meets the mech? Also try adjusting the limit screws.

Good point, a link snapped after 10 miles so I got it removed and just put another in, it was fine since then and has only just started to slip a little in 8th
