What my workshop needed - MUSIC!

There's a bit of a workshop arms race going on locally. Since I built myself a garage and installed a bike workshop in half of it, both my neighbour and brother-in law have set up their own and it's been a struggle to keep one step ahead in the battle for fettling supremacy.
Last week my brother made a basic schoolboy error. He upgraded his hi-fi system and offered me his old speakers as a freebie. I immediately started scheming.. I pulled out tmy old Sony CD/SACD player from the loft and found a beefy matching amp on the 'bay for 29 quid. I also got hold of some secondhand wal brackets for the speakers, and here is the result!
With a beer fridge already in place and now some great sounds, I may be spending quite a bit of time in there...

Looking good, but you really need to tidy up/hide the speaker cables as it is spoiling the look for me.
Also a calander with scantily clad ladies is a must."BEER" Proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy0 -

Vicky P should suffice on that score BTW she's in todays Star, albeit in monochrome. Will scan and post later.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -
I have a bigger sterero in my garage than anywhere else nowadays.
I can go out there and listen to all my old cassettes - and even vinyl if the mood takes me. Makes doing stuff out there a lot more pleasant.I'm left handed, if that matters.0 -

Can you still call it a workshop when it contains a washing machine? I'd describe that as a utility room. Sort it out, man.0

Now that's a garage......
The cars don't get a look in these days in mine, bit it isn't that tidy - still some old stuff my wife needs to get shifted, before I'm happy. Can't say I've for a peg board with park tools, but got a tool box with some great campag tools (shimano man though - great tools), and some other 'cheaper' - but not park tools.
Lots of bikes - my roadies are neat, the commuter is 'out' and ready to go, as well as the kids's bikes. Might need a wheel rack just to make it look good.
That is one garage - got an old radio, but no hi-fi !!!!0 -
Call that a garage? Pfft where's the wall mounted plasma tv!? :?I'd rather walk than use Shimano0

I spend so much time maintaining my own bikes and repairing and servicing my friends that I don't have much left to start a repair business!
It's nice to do the odd good deed too- a guy was cycling up our lane on Sunday on a shiny new Revolution tourer. We are at the start odf a significant climb and he was clearly having trouble with his gears, riding up and down a couple of times looking down at the front mech accompanied by assorted grinding noises. I popped out and asked if he was OK - turned out his front mech cable was too tight and he couldn't shift to the middle ring on his triple. He asked if I knew anything about bikes and so I opened the garage doors - a few seconds in the repair stand later the bike was shifting perfectly. I don't think he could decide whether to be grateful or gobsmacked (we are in the middle of nowhere) , but he went on his way thanking me profusely.0
