saw this in the independent last week; it claims to meet international safety standards and available at www.boysstuff.co.uk for £50
how small it goes is hard to judge but it could be useful for touring particularly if travelling by train. i usually leave the helmet behind when touring as it's awkward to carry about on transport and on very quiet routes it feels unnecessary i only take one modest bag and i guess the advantage is that it possibly fits into a hard case or bike bag more easily, or would be more convenient to carry in a supermarket bag separately

  • sorry folks , just seen there's already been a thread about this and it doesn't look as thought there's significant benefit
  • Hi there.

If your helmet is too awkward to carry, you could always wear it?

    Cheers, Andy

Can you direct me to the thread please?

Just that I saw this helmet through part of the design phase and never knew if it made it to production - which it must have done. I'd be interested to see how the design of the final product has changed.

    Cheers.

    First look:

    Review:

Both complete with comments from the "Sales & Marketing Director" of Stash - I rather suspect that their PR guy didn't have a chance to review her comments first.

Apparently I'd fit into the "lycra clad hero" demographic. I'd sooner spend £100 on the top model Spesh/Giro lid which weigh next to nothing and don't realistically take up much space in a bag anyway. It's not like an inflated football, you can stuff clothing (hopefully clean!) in & around the helmet. I can't see where this folding thing offers any real advantage.
    Rides a Cannondale Synapse 105.

Thanks for the links - looks like the final design wasn't any different than the prototype I saw before release.

See what you mean about Ms. "Stash's" comments - She argues a stupid point on the review where she harks on about safety and certification and the review doesn't even disagree with her!

I agree about your Spesh/Giro comment since these are both tasty looking and functional helmets instead of the cheap and nasty looking Stash.
