Brake - Allen Nut replacement ??
Don't ask , but the nut which holds the front brakes onto my carbon folks fell off.
As a result I can't use the front brakes.
I have a Specialized Allez 18 '08. The Allen Bolt looks like it should be quite long to reach in and fit over the brake bolt.
Does anyone know what size/length and perhaps even where I could get a replacement
bolt online ? I've been to 2 local bike shops and they have nothing at all.
Thanks
Mark

I think M6 thread and a maximun OD of 10mm. When I had a pair of 'carbon' forks that the brakes wouldn't reach through I made my own up by using a canti stud and canti mounting bolt held together with locktite. Basically cut the stud off the forks, squared the ends off and put a shortened canti bolt in one end and tightened it up till it bottomed out on the stud with threadlock and then shortened the other end by trial and error.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
