Please excuse the newbie type question, I am from the roadie side of town :shock:

I am about to fit a new cassette / wheelset to my lads mountain bike and just want to check the following;

When a fitting a Shimano 9 speed cassette to a Mavic freehub, are any spacers required? (Crossride / XT if this matters).

There are all sorts of combinations with the road wheels / groupsets and just thought I ought to check

Thanks

Rich

P.S. I am fitting a full groupset so I may be back!!

    IIRC all mavic hubs use the same body so there should be a spacer to use with the 8/9 spd cassette.

    it should be with the wheel set and if the cassette is lose :wink:

    parktools has good how toos on most things. linky below.
