Subject pretty much says it all, but to explain, I'm torn between the idea of a new wheelset for my hardtail which i can whack a set of slicks on (more likely knobblies on new 1's and slicks on old wheels lol) or save up/raid the savings and get a new bike prob XC Full Sus, and put hardtail on slicks for commuting/road based fitness training, don't want to go down the specific road bike route, before anyone suggests that. :D

So what would you guys and girls do in my position?

Just changing tyres over is the cheapest solution! Sounds to me you just want us to tell you to get a new bike ;-)

What budget? Could put a rigid fork and slicks on the HT, and get a new FS. I know that is what you want to do really hehe

Nah, am to god damn lazy to just change tyres over  hence the whole new wheels train of thought.

I'll probably go down the 2nd bike route eventually anyway, just can't decide whether 2nd set of wheels might be a waste of money when i do eventually get one :D

budget when i go for new bike will prob be around the £1500 mark maybe £2000.

Its not a bad frame, and would make an ideal commuter!
