Who was your biggest dissapointment

Plus's for me -
1. The Course - Glad to see the end of the week of flat stages at the beginning and some lovely intermediate stages.
2. Gerolsteiner - Yes you can single out Kohl who was awesome and Schumacher who seemed to be everywhere, but as a team they were superb. Always visable on every stage. Yes we know they don't have a sponsor for next season, but that also begs the question why are they only performing like this now and not before? Great performance!
3. CAV!
4. Vandevelde - So so glad for Slipstream, they rode very very well. Great sponsor coverage, Pate's ride was excellent and VV put the cherry on the cake.
5. Catching the Crims - I know its a poor face for the sport but i always feel happy that they've caught the buggers and ASO did a fine job this year.
Downers for me -
1. Lack of Prologue - The race totally missed the pomp and ceremony of the Prologue.
2. Valverde - Yet again he talks up his chances and yet again he folds. He's a mini stage race and one day winner.
3. Cadel - Wanted him to get the victory, but i honestly don't think he will now. He physically doesn't have a kick that can shake riders off and the competition is only going to get stronger. Popo's lack of Pop didn' help either.
4. Cunego - For a supposed mountain climber who trained specifically for a race that was easier than the Giro, he kinda combusted didn't he.
4. Periero's Accident - Just when he was looking like the true leader of Caisse and coming into fantastic form. Sad!
5. That Andy S didn't win - This should've been his tour. If it wasn't for the feed f'up he would've won this tour. He was climbing out of his skin. He looked so easy up Alpe d'Huez it was sick.
One thing i will say is that the final third of the tour, even though it had the most exciting riding, kinda lost it for me. I was expecting so much more, and this evidence ol' Bertie may just walk it next year without breaking sweat.
Here's the to future though!0 -

He reminded me of what the tour used to look like in the mountains with the favorites looking spent at the top of climbs and having bad days etc. Strangely, and as has been alluded to elsewhere on this forum, both he and Valverde were reassuringly bad.
Not sure where the idea comes from that Valverde had such a bad tour. As far as i can tell he had one bad day in the Pyrenees where a fair amount of the time (probably ovber a minute) was lost on the downhill/flat due to the lead group having Cancellara and Voigt driving it. Bearing in mind his active first week and his crash this could perhaps be explained away. He looked good at Prato Nevoso and kept up with the leaders on the other stages. It was disappointing that he didnt try and attack thereafter in the Alps as he had the opportunity to with the leaders watching the other leaders.
The big disappointment for me would be Zubeldia. 5th last year aned absolutely nowhere this year. He isnt the most attacking rider but this was appalling.0
