sram rival with sx5 shifter

is it compatible with the mtb shifters??

    Is what bit? The cassette is not, the rear mech might do as it seems to be a 1:1 actuation. But I can't see the point when have perfectly good MTB bits.

    All SRAM stuff is 1:1 actuation, so in theory the rival stuff would work with SX5 shifters.
    But Rival is 10speed and SX5 is 8speed so the spacing will be wrong (thick 8speed chains won't work on skinny 10speed stuff).

    Lies, lies i tell you, IIRC the attack and rocket shifters are 2:1 so as to be compatible with shimano rear mechs.

    and now 1:1 does not mean it has to pull the same amount of cable. IIRC Sram said that there road mechs would not work with their MTB triggers.

    need to investigate.
