I usually use copper slip/grease but I'm not sure if this is actually suitable, particularly with there being a carbon section.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

for the bearings or the threads?

I am guessing the threads but.....as there is a carbon spacer on the old square taper bb's...

I've never disassembled it completely, I usually remove it in one piece, give it a clean and put a spread of grease on it.

It's a brand new BB, square taper.....I'm asking because the two-three year old one I've just replaced looked and felt awful- it was chipped all over and really worn out even though I'd taken care to clean it and grease it periodically. I want to keep this one in prime condition

    Thanks again.

Gosh this is better than me, mine is five years old and needs replacing, never took care of it either.
