Actually there is no news at all - four riders up the road, peleton @ 42 seconds, looks like a snooze-fest.

I think I need some "assistance" - I'm flagging badly after nearly 3 weeks of racing.

Maybe we'll get a horse on the road or Customs will search Prudhomme's car

I'm hoping Ricco puts in an appearance and tries to fight someone.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.

Where is the gobby git anyway? When Alessandra di Stefano ambushed him in that petrol station (lucky guy) he said we'd hear from after he spoke to his lawyer. Since then... nothing. This must be the longest time in his entire life he's kept his mouth shut.

Just how many breaks has Sylvain Chavanel got himself into? I really hope he can stay away today, if anyone deserves a stage he does.

Right then. Back from the pub after a decent Friday lunch, what have I missed?

I'm not sure but if I guessed

He's Italian and have a hard time at the moment. Therefore, he's at his mum's house.

He'll be before CONI next week - They're not mucking about.

That'll be piles after 3 weeks in the saddle.

The FDJ rider in the break has a lot of steering spacers.

What did Hinault say about Chavanel before the tour then?

Chavanel's having the best season so far and Hinault said it's "only" taken him 7 years to learn how to win: i.e. more training & harder training.

I think it was Hinault running away down the road after Chav crossed the line in first place...

Hinault hardly said a word to Chavanel on the podium - quick (forced) smile, a handshake and shoved Chav off to the next dignitary.

Feillu, Flecha and Wegmann all missed the time cut. Two days from Paris... ouch.

For a diminutive middle-aged Italian lady she rather scary IRL. Wears those monster sunglasses all the time to hide the wrinkles. No-one gets in her way and she always gets her interview. A tough character, I sense she's more like Paxman (or Sybil Fawlty) than Ned Boulting.
