Vulcanisng solution only for sticking patches to tubes. Something in the chemical breakdown of the adhesive that makes it stick to the butyl of the innertube/patch. I know this from experience as I tried glue that looked the same as vulcanising solution and wondered why it didn't work
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

IIRC it is just a mild peroxide solution that oxidises the sulphur bridges in the rubber, ie de-vulcanises it, temporarily as they reform the two pieces of rubber are then bonded into a single piece. It isn't really a glue as such, if you want something quicker than traditional patches then try the park self adhesive ones, if you just need more solution then lbs.

    Hi there.

Do you mean for fixing a split in the tyre rather than the tube? I'd just use something as a 'boot' to get me home. In the past I have used the following: Old train ticket (Excellent choice), Folded Energy Wrapper (Ok-ish), Five Pound Note (Worked, but could be expensive).

    Cheers, Andy
