Veloplugs - anybody used them?
Been experimenting with latex (inner tubes, nothing likely to get me into the NOTW...)
Had a dramatic blow out (again just inner tube) last night and quest for why led me to veloplugs.

They seem like a good idea in theory and not very costly so bought some.
Anybody using them?

Anyone..? I'd be interested to see how you get on with them too.
BTW I haven't tried them but so far found that Velox or similar cloth rim tapes are much better than plastic ones with latex tubes. The latex is so flexible it can work itself into tiny gaps around plastic rim tapes - also tiny holes in the tyre wall if you have any too!
If the Veloplugs fit tightly with no gaps when under pressure from the tube then they should work ok.I\'m sure I had one of those here somewhere0 -
I don't think they fit every rim. Check the size of the spoke holes inside the rim before you buy. Also do a search on the Weight Weenies forum, you'll probably find more info there.0

Just an update on this:
Ordered Veloplugs by internet and they arrived a couple of days later. Fitted them, along with latex tubes and done couple of hundred miles since no problems.Martin S. Newbury RC0 -
