Hi,

Im after a pair of new forks for my S-works with i think, integrated headset-the bearings sit in the frame rather than cups...integrated right?

Well, forks are advertised as for or not for integrated frames. Whats the difference? The forks i have at the mo are Deda blackforce 4 and when i bought them a few years ago i took no notice of the headset bit and they fit fine!

Thanks for any help.

I had a similar question a few months ago when I wanted some non-integrated forks. When I asked the question on here, and of Dom @ Kinesis, the view was that it didn't really matter and that you could fit integrated forks to a non-integrated frame. Most forks seem to be for integrated headsets now so you should be OK.

What do you fancy? I wanted some Easton EC90 SL but there was a UK shortage when I needed them and I couldn't get them anywhere. I went for some Kinesis Tracer ones in the end and I have been real pleased with them. They seem much better than the ITM Millenium ones they replaced.

To the best of my knowledge, the only difference is the diameter of the fork crown, not the steerer/beraing diameter itself, but the flat section where the lower crown race sits . Purely cosmetic, integrated crowns are designed to be the same diameter as the head tube, giving a more pleasing look. Allegedly.

Thanks for the replies. I did suspect it was about looks! There's about a 3mm gap on my current forks.

HUGO15-Im after some Look forks as they will shave 200grams off the front end! I do like the Eastons but they are way more than i can justify spending. I love the 'look' of the Look forks (ha!) and they would go very nice with the bike. Well, ill get searching!

    Thanks

NICKNICK what LOOK forks are you after and how much do they weigh and cost ?

I fitted some Controltech Lightning Full Carbon Road Forks to my Kinesis KiC2...

355grams for £150, TBH I though that was very good value for money, £62 pound Cheaper than the LOOK HSC4s(Wiggle) and 25 grams lighter. The CONTROLTECH forks have an excellent apperance and finish to them, the quality is top notch :D 8)
