Singlespeed free wheel screw on cog
I've just gotten hold of a rather nice example of an On One Pompino. It came with a flip flop hub with two screw on track cogs (16T/18T) either side. I've had it for 2 days and completed nearly 40miles. I'm not quite sure about the whole fixed wheel thing yet and was thinking of fitting a screw on cog with a free wheel.
Am I right in thinking fitting a screw on cog with a free wheel (such as a rather fancy white industries ENO single speed http://www.charliethebikemonger.com/use ... ocart5.htm) is going to shift the chain line out and require a new BB?

don't know, but they sell individual cogs for converter kits, genioous, no need to find new cranks, 14T here I come!0

Yup, freewheel has a different offset in comparison to a track sprocket - it'll push your chainline out about 3-4mm - it also depends on whether you're running a 3/32" or 1/8" chain too - narrower chains are more tolerant of mis-alignment. You could also try putting some spacers behind your chainring too - depends on how 'noise-free' you like your transmissionMake mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Mmm, I might have a problem then - its a 1/8" chain - thick KMC one! Spacers might look a little ugly on the chainring and push the ring off the spider?0
