i got me a new saddle for my bike , its a voltaire intake airflow gel type and it cost me 30 quid. i hate that sliding forward off the saddle feeling or seat too far back and getting the sandpapered goolies sensation.

the saddle has a marked area for placement setting. i just set it bang in the middle of the range and i set it spirit level flat.

whats the best way to install it for maximum comfort and stability on the saddle? i am 5 feet and 9 inches tall by the way.

    trial and error

the usual advice is to set it flat but it does depend on the saddle. I run mine nose up, so I naturally slide back onto the fatter, more comfortable part during riding but I know people who set theirs nose down (for some other reason...)

There's much to be experimented with before you get a sadddle and position you are comfy with

As above - trial and error.

We're all individuals so there's no hard and fast rule - what works for me might not work for you.

I find that what looks flat often isn't - especially on modern saddles with a cutout.

Try running the level from one of the high points at the back - either side where you sit bones would be - to the nose and see if that is sloping down.

That has made my bike much more comfortable recently.
I'm left handed, if that matters.
