Off to Lake Garda soon.Looking for a fast route. Anyone care to reccommend one.

I've tried a few online route finders, and they have given conflicting advice.

And yes, I'm taking bikes :D

Have you tried viamichelin.com? IME it's the best site for routes in Europe...

Strasbourg - Basel - Berne - Kandersteg - (here's the clever bit - through the Lotschberg tunnel by loading your car on the train) - Brig - Simplon Pass - Domoddossola - across Lago Maggiore on the car ferry - Como and you're basically there

Maybe not too quick but certainly interesting :D

Forget the ferry at Lago Maggiore - just stop there instead. The Swiss end (North) has some incredible mountain passes that will challenge any rider and the road around the lake is flat for a break from the mountains. Have been back there a couple of times - its paradise.

Worth asking the question on a few sailing forums...Garda is a very popular venue for obvious reasons!

Might also be worth PMing musto skiff on this forum, I think he may have sailed there a few times and might know a good route for you...
