I'm looking to replace my current bike (an old kona fire mountain) with a hardtail or full sus i've been looking around for about a month now and have narrowed what I want to get down to several choices, and would like some input from others into what they recommend I get. One of the bigger questions I have is about the 29' Gary Fisher bike I've listed as to whether I should get that over the standard 26' bikes listed. These are the bikes I'm looking at, also if you have any recommendations beyond these post them and a site where I can check a spec. Also, if anyone has any bike for sale within UK that would be worth my time looking at, please also post it.

I'd stick with the list you have, all of them are pretty good

You'll confusse things more with more on the list!

You need to test all of them and decide

Thanks for replying mate, yeh it was mainly these, I've tested the Dawg and Both specialized and liked them both, the dawg very much so. Going up to bristol to check out the others as where I live there are few decent bike shops, and didn't have any of these available. Would like to get the opinions of some other people aswell though :-)

rwalworth - i'm looking at buying a bike in your selection too. I like the cannondale but have never ridden a kona! I'm worried about getting a full sus incase it bobs and bounces too much on uphills. Any more info from anyone would be great! :D

Nice bike, not exactly light though.

Whats the weight of the konas and the cannondale?

Probably much the same - I was more comparing to the weight of a hardtail, which would be several pounds less. Worth condsidering all options and testing a few!

They are all decent nbikes in their own rights, no real drawbacks except a little weight. the Dale and Meta have more travel front and back than the Spesh, which is more XC oriented (the others two will take bigger hits better). Really would come down to what feels and fit best. All have tried and tested suspension designs. too.
