You cant go wrong at £1500. Just get a shortlist together and go to the shops who carry them in stock, preferably get a test ride and buy the one that you like best.
My shortlist was ;
Bianchi 928
Wilier Mortirolo Veloce
Specialized Tarmac Pro 2006 in sale
Scott Cr1
In the end I bought the Bianchi but looked and tried all 4, 3 of which were at Epic Cycles who were the best people I dealt with by far.
I ruled the Spec Comp 2008 out on the components for the money, and the Pro just wasnt cheap enough to justify buying a two year old bike.
Epic can build the Bianchi and Scott with good wheels and Ultegra for £1500 so I would think about speaking to them of visiting the shop.
Hope that helps,

The current Bianchi range look great, they have always ridden great too.
What about looking on ebay for a 2nd hand bike? For £1500 you can get a real cracker of a bike.

a mate had a similar budget recently and went for a full carbon Trek. Never really been a fan of Treks but his looks a very nice bike for that sort of money. Worth a look I think. The Williers also look nice.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0
