tjm - looks hugely fun but - live rear axle?!

    Yikes!!

    .

You would be surprised, on a race track my live axle car is just as fast as IRS (all other things being equal). Its lighter weight and easy setup (not much you can do to them) tends to balance the theoretical advantages of a IRS rear end. Simple is sometimes best!

On a bumpy road it can be a bit of a handful but it has also got an LSD which makes is very controllable as long as you are not scared of a little sideways action 8)

That sort of car would be wrong if it didn't spend a large amount of time sideways! 8)
What engine have you got in it?

Nothing exciting - a 1700 ford crossflow. Probably around 110 to 120bhp which isn't a lot but it is just about enough in a 600kg car.

Mind you, the engine isn't exactly in the car at the moment- it is currently sitting on an engine stand waiting for me to find the time to put it back in. But messing with my bikes tends to take priority every time I go in the garage....

Anything with 200bhp/tonne or more is great fun
