'88 - I was five and still remember my dad sitting me down to watch some Tour action... There's still a little bit of me that expects the same music everytime I sit down to watch the first stage... I even found myself whistling it the other day! Great stuff!

Some rather sad comments there (“it's the best music ever made”, etc).

Me, I like ES's witty choice of... Chemical Bothers.

Bet they thought of the artist first and found the music later!

    Clever video though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKLqXysaJhA

Those were the days.....I still remember the great clip montage they did in 1988 on the penultimate Sunday with Richard Keys summarizing the stats of the race so far and then saying 'and still seven more days to go...'

The current theme tune is pretty naph! Good to see the old intro but doesn't look and sound dated now too!

It was the 2000 tour. That was always at the end whereas this one

was always the opener with the stage route map at the beginning of the broadcasts. Just hearing it reminds me of the sizzling heat, Duffer's excited voice-over and that Ventoux stage...

Revived by ITV 4 this evening! Great little Alps medley set to the theme. Awesome.

Aah that brings back memories... warm glow :D ... hurrying to finish my tea and rush to the front room and switch the telly on in time for The Music... it's so much better than what ITV4 have got now.
