Hi

I've got one of these:

What's the best upgrades I can make to reduce weight and improve performance?

Changed very little so far: New grips, saddle & chain.

What would you change?

Thinking wheels?

Cheers

how long have you had the bike, and what budget do you have? Is it a one off upgrade?

    12 months.

Considering getting a new bike next year but aware that I haven't really got good value from the KKK, so wondering if by upgrading it I can prolong the life and avoid buying new bike.

    Budget 500+ max all in?

    Cheers

a big budget! Wheels are the obvious place to start, something like xt hubs on mavic 717 rims would be lighter and smoother. Xtr hubs even better. New fork like a reba will shed nearly a pound, but wont feel much different to the tora. Always go for the best kevlar beaded tyres you can afford. I wouldnt change brakes if you like them, and would keep the drivetrain until it wears out. Carbon bars worth considering.

When the cassette needs chnaging ,going to an XT cassette is an easy way to save some weight for little cost.Otherwise ,go with sonic`s suggestions as above.
