Hello everyone,
i have just joined, it's a great site :D
Firstly, apologies if this question has already been asked like a million times but i am a newbie
i commute on my Marin larkspur, its great for my journey, 6 miles, flat Tarka Trail down by the river, i have been thinking about switching to a Marin Highway.
wondering whether its worth the extra and if it's a good bike, cant seem to find many reviews
any help much appreciated

Welcome Wampa, and what a very confusing subject/unconnected poll to start with!

I assume you mean a Highway One?

The current model is full carbon, and retails at around £1300 IIRC.

It's a decent bike, and is fairly well equipped, probably not the maximum bang for your buck, but then Marin's have never been about that - in the MTB world traditionally Spesh and Trek have supplied higher spec for the same money, but as in all things, you pays your money.........

You already have a Marin, and if you like it, and have had no problems, then I would defo give the highway one strong consideration.

    Dan,
many thanks for the advice, i did mean the Highway 1, i see you have a Marin Highway yourself?
I love my Marin, it has seen many many miles over the past 4 years and it has never let me down, i just fancy an udate really, i love the look of it too, i guess i am being pretty shallow here

Apologies for the unconnected poll-i just recently heard a lot of conflicting opinions regarding helmets, some saying they increase chances of an accident?! I wanted to see what genuine cyclists think, i dont wear one personally, i'm not on-road so much, i do make my 18month old son wear one though, i am kinda thinking maybe i should wear one too?

If you want your son to wear a helemt then you'll have to led by example.
