Help - Glasgow Bike Shops
I'm in the middle of a LeJOG on my road bike, and my gears are not running at all well. I'm due in Glasgow tomorrow, and I'm hoping to find someone to take a look at my gears for me - it's probably my last chance before I hit the highlands.
Can anyone recommend a bike shop in central Glasgow please? Thanks.

I'm no great expert but I know that there is a big bike shop not far from Buchanan Bus Station - just off Sauchiehall St if you know it.
It's pretty big - Dales Cycles.
I don't know anything about their quality of work - just that it's there.
Basically go past the West end of the Bus Station and continue up that road so you go right past Glasgow Caledonian University and turn right on the next road and it's in the middle. Big warehouse looking place.

Try Wheel craft in Lennoxtown, just North of Glasgow, friendly and a bit more peronal than the city ones.Greetings from the wet and windy North west0

Wheelcraft is certainly worth a visit - it's an experience in itself. But be prepared to sit, have a coffee and share some anecdotes of your journey so far.

I'd stick with Dales. It's central, easy to find, generally work of a good standard.
If they're busy, you could try the Alpine bikes section of the Tiso outdoor centre, which is just around the corner from Dales. Perhaps they'll send you in the direction of their store at Glasgow George Cross, about a mile away.

Also, you could try Billy Bilslands:

If you're in a hurry at all (as you probably are on a LEJOG), then I'd avoid Wheelcraft - it's a unique place / experience, but nothing ever happens there fast.
You'll get something sorted out between those shops. Good luck with the rest of your journey!0 -
I use Billy Billsland - not far from the office and the guy who runs the shop is quite personable. It is small, but he knows his stuff. BUT, he will not be holding much stock if you need any parts.0

You've all been very helpful - thanks very much. I'll look them up on Streetmap to see which is nearest my hotel, then I'll give them a call (in the morning).0

Maybe too late but if not, try here also. http://www.bicyclerepair.co.uk/ Its a 10-15 minute cycle from the city centre and more or less a straight road from Union Street - draft the 38 bus . Maybe call him first as its been over 2 years since I lived slightly further down from there and I'm assuming he's still opened.0
